Ottawa, Canada (January 11, 2012) – FreeBalance, a leading vendor of Government Resource Planning (GRP) software, announced that the annual FreeBalance International Steering Committee (FISC) event takes place on January 16-18, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey. FISC is held annually, with Ministers of Finance participating every two years. The event is designed to share good governance practices among countries and is critical to the FreeBalance customer-centric approach of social responsibility. Government transparency and public sector performance management are the main themes for FISC 2012.
“The international community agreed to a new deal for aid effectiveness with developing countries at the Busan High Level Forum last year. Knowledge shared at FISC 2012 will strengthen Public Financial Management (PFM) to enable donors to confidently use country systems,” said Manuel Pietra, President & CEO of FreeBalance. “The use of country systems will improve government effectiveness and performance.”

Customers have full access to FreeBalance executives during the event to discuss product, service and support improvements. These activities, combined with other aspects of the ISO-9001/2008 certified “customer-centric” processes, ensures that FreeBalance products meet changing international government PFM needs in a financially sustainable fashion.
