Press Releases FreeBalance Government Customers Seek Breakthrough Performance at Annual Steering Committee2012 FreeBalance International Steering Committee in Istanbul, Turkey includes Ministers of Finance and senior government officials from 12 countries Ottawa, Canada (January 11, 2012) – FreeBalance, a leading vendor of Government Resource Planning (GRP) software, announced that the annual FreeBalance International Steering Committee (FISC) event takes place on January 16-18, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey. FISC is held annually, with Ministers of Finance participating every two years. The event is designed to share good governance practices among countries and is critical to the FreeBalance customer-centric approach of social responsibility. Government transparency and public sector performance management are the main themes for FISC 2012. “The international community agreed to a new deal for aid effectiveness with developing countries at the Busan High Level Forum last year. Knowledge shared at FISC 2012 will strengthen Public Financial Management (PFM) to enable donors to confidently use country systems,” said Manuel Pietra, President & CEO of FreeBalance. “The use of country systems will improve government effectiveness and performance.” FreeBalance will be blogging and live tweeting during FISC 2012 to share good PFM practices with the international community.
