FreeBalance Accountability Suite extended with Web-Based Assets & Inventory modules

Government-specific Assets and Inventory modules developed using innovative FreeBalance Accountability Platform

Ottawa, Canada(November 24, 2009) - FreeBalance, a For Profit Social Enterprise (FOPSE) software company that helps governments around the world to leverage robust Government Resource Planning (GRP) technology to accelerate country growth, is pleased to announce the availability of the latest web-based version of the FreeBalance Assets and Inventory modules. The new FreeBalance Assets and Inventory modules extend the footprint of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite with enhanced functionality to effectively manage, maintain and safeguard government assets.

The FreeBalance Assets and Inventory modules enable the efficient management of public assets and real-time information about purchases, asset sales, maintenance, operation, and asset disposal. The FreeBalance Assets and Inventory modules enable the government trend towards accrual accounting. The modules enable governments to accurately manage a wide range of asset information, including renewal of service contracts, insurance policies, warranty periods, software licensing and services rendered.

“Government asset and inventory management principles differ from the profit-driven private sector,” said José Saldanha, Vice President, Research & Development at FreeBalance. “Governments require more than simple cataloging and tracking. The FreeBalance Assets and Inventory modules are designed exclusively for government and can easily be configured to reflect government workflow, standards and policy.”

FreeBalance Assets and Inventory are fully integrated web-based modules of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite, a commercial off the shelf Government Resource Planning (GRP) system. FreeBalance Assets and Inventory includes configurable adapters to integrate with other government information systems. Integration provides real time access to supportive documentation such as invoices, purchase orders, contracts and RFPs. Comprehensive asset and inventory management lowers administrative costs, expedites government process execution, audits asset changes and provides accurate financial reporting.
