FreeBalance International Steering Committee (FISC) Elects New Chair at Annual Meeting in Czech Republic

Treasury Director from the Ministry of Finance & Economy in Kosovo becomes new FISC chair

Ottawa, Canada (March 3, 2009) - FreeBalance, a global provider of software solutions for public financial management (PFM), today announced that Mr. Lulzim Ismajli, Treasury Director, Kosovo Ministry of Finance & Economy, has been elected as the new chair of the FreeBalance International Steering Committee (FISC). Mr. Ismajli was elected by a group of senior government officials from Afghanistan, Antigua & Barbuda, Kosovo, Mongolia, and Sierra Leone as part of the annual FISC strategic planning sessions. Mr. Ismajli succeeds Mr. David Matthias, Budget Director from the Ministry of Finance & Economy in Antigua & Barbuda.

The FreeBalance International Steering Committee, sponsored by FreeBalance, is an independently operated organization that meets annually and discusses issues through conference calls each quarter. FISC provides an interactive forum for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences among FreeBalance international customers. The FISC provides public sector thought leadership and product vision to direct FreeBalance solutions. Decisions and guidance from the FISC have a direct impact on the FreeBalance product roadmap and help ensure alignment between customer goals and objectives and FreeBalance product priorities and initiatives. The 2009 FreeBalance International Steering Committee meetings in Prague, Czech Republic focused on new technology and system sustainability. Previous FISC events were held in Cascais, Portugal (2008) and in London, United Kingdom (2007).

The FISC complements the Government of Canada Cluster (GCC). The GCC is an independent organization managed by Consulting and Audit Canada (CAC), a federal government organization working to improve public sector management and operations in Canada and abroad. The GCC consists of FreeBalance customers in the federal government of Canada and the government of Nunavut, a Canadian territory. The Cluster meets regularly with special committees assisting specific product initiatives. FreeBalance works closely with the FreeBalance Government of Canada Cluster to set product directions, review product specifications, provide beta testing and certify new versions of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite.
