Capital Development Authority of Islamabad Selects FreeBalance for Public Financial Management Project

The Integrated Resource Management Information System (IRMIS) will enable the CDA to modernize public financial management and improve resource utilization. The FreeBalance Accountability Suite software will support all aspects of the Capital Development Authority budget cycle. The software will provide fiscal control over fund allocations, expenditures, revenues, procurement, fixed assets, human resources and payroll. The IRMIS will contribute to increased transparency and accountability for CDA and provide the citizens of Islamabad with improved service delivery.

The CDA has over 14,000 employees working in 50 directorates covering 908 square kilometers. The CDA is responsible for a wide range of local government functions, including infrastructure development, urban planning, waste management, collection of taxes, urban planning and water supply for a population or over 1.5 million. The Integrated Resource Management Information System (IRMIS) will be deployed in all CDA locations in Islamabad and will play a key role in support of local government reform efforts.
