Case study study on Integrated Financial Management Accounting System (IFMAS) launched as part of celebration events in Guyana

FreeBalance, global leaders in Government Accountability Solutions, hosted a celebration in Guyana last week to recognize the Government's achievements in good governance, accountability, and transparency. During the event, FreeBalance's President & CEO, Manuel Schiappa Pietra presented an award of recognition to Guyana's Minister of Finance, the Honourable Saisnarine Kowlessar.

Joining FreeBalance and the Minister of Finance were Canada's High Commissioner to Guyana, Mr. Bruno Picard, officials from the Ministry of Finance, and representatives from the High Commission of Canada, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the UK Department for International Development, the United Nations Development Programme, the Government of Suriname, CARANA, and the Guyana media.

As part of the celebration, Minister Kowlessar unveiled a case study document that highlights the steps the Government of Guyana has taken to enhance government accountability and transparency.  "By enabling and supporting greater accountability and transparency in the management of country finances, the Government is able to confirm its leadership and work with the people of Guyana to strengthen the economic stability and future of our country" (Minister of Finance quoted in the case study).
