The FreeBalance Cornerstone Project
As an active participant in the global community, FreeBalance is committed to international development and corporate social responsibility.
FreeBalance is also committed to being an active participant in the different countries and communities in which we work. The FreeBalance Cornerstone Project is dedicated to raising funds for children’s programs in the developing world. The first Cornerstone Project raised funds for rebuilding destroyed schools in Afghanistan. The funds raised by FreeBalance were donated through UNICEF Canada. The second FreeBalance Cornerstone Project also worked with UNICEF to provide vaccinations for children in Sudan. The third FreeBalance Cornerstone Project supported the SOS Kindergarten in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The Kindergarten is also part of a larger SOS Children's Villages program in the country. The FreeBalance Cornerstone Project is ongoing and adds new projects and countries on an annual basis.
FreeBalance recently had a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 1,283 school children in Timor-Leste. Under the leadership of Manuel Pietra, President & CEO of FreeBalance, the company delivered 1,283 packages of school supplies to the Escola Primária de Fatuhada in Dili.
The Timor-Leste initiative is part of the FreeBalance Cornerstone Project. In Timor-Leste, FreeBalance identified an urgent need for basic school necessities at the Escola Primária de Fatuhada. FreeBalance provided assistance to the school authorities by rejuvenating the classrooms with a fresh coat of paint, providing calculators and dictionaries to the teachers, and by donating individual school supply packages to all 1,283 school children.
FreeBalance is committed to making a difference in the world. Our software solutions make a difference from an accountability and development perspective but we feel we can do more in the countries where we are active,” said Manuel Pietra, President & CEO of FreeBalance. “Global citizenship at FreeBalance is about our commitment to international development, active participation in the global community and social responsibility.”
