Business Development Specialist

As a Business Development Specialist at FreeBalance you will be responsible for identifying, managing and expanding new business opportunities in the Government Resource Planning (GRP) market. The Business Development Specialist will be expected to increase the FreeBalance sales pipeline and is accountable for gathering and analyzing GRP market data. This role also includes regular support for departments like sales, customer support and marketing. A Business Development Specialist at FreeBalance is expected to leverage existing tools and to develop new and improved methods of reaching GRP prospects and potential partners.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Generating FreeBalance leads and opportunities in Africa
  2. Managing and providing support growth of FreeBalance sales pipeline
  3. Developing and maintaining relationship with international donors and IFIs
  4. Moving opportunities through the sales process before handing off to Sales
  5. Collaborating with regional sales, marketing and project teams
  6. Conducting extensive regional and country-specific GRP market research
  7. Performing daily monitoring of procurement websites and local media
  8. Identifying and recruiting prospective high value regional partners

Education and Experience:

  1. University graduates in Business, finance or related discipline
  2. Minimum 3 years relevant experience in business development
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Comprehensive understanding of government procurement processes
  5. Ability to analyze, research, and organize well
  6. Experience with IFIs like the World Bank and African Development Bank
  7. Familiarity with public financial management and human resource systems and solutions
  8. Ability to travel internationally as required
  9. Possess a strong sense of global citizenship and willingness to engage in global initiatives at FreeBalance

This is a full-time position.

As a Pre-sales Consultant at FreeBalance you will work closely with the sales, marketing and business development teams to support FreeBalance sales activities.  This role will be active in reviewing and responding to Requests for Proposals and preparing and delivering presentations to prospects. The Pre-Sales Consultant will also provide business and technical product expertise, solution features and benefits information and deal-specific competitive analysis.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzing requests for proposal and customer business requirements
  2. Preparing demonstrations of applications to meet the business requirements of our customers
  3. Assisting with pricing scenarios, business benefit and ROI analyses
  4. Participate in RFP processes
  5. Participate in conferences as requested
  6. Developing and nurture business relationships with prospects and existing customers
  7. Performing market research to identify opportunities and competitive knowledge

Education and Experience:

  1. The ideal candidate will be a graduate from a university commerce program specializing in accounting or finance
  2. Minimum 3+ years experience in presales / consulting activities for public financial management software solutions
  3. Experienced with ERP financial management applications
  4. Proven presentation and interpersonal skills
  5. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and French
  6. Ability to travel internationally as required

Channel Account Manager

As a Channel Account Manager at FreeBalance you will be responsible for recruiting, managing and expanding global partner relationships in the Government Resource Planning (GRP) market. The Channel Account Manager will be expected to increase the network of FreeBalance alliances and generate new business through the sale of FreeBalance products and services by our channel partners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the international direct and indirect sales and service channel
  • Identify, recruit and develop prospective high value channel partners
  • Develop new business opportunities for FreeBalance with channel partners
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and participate in proposal response process
  • Collaborate and leverage FreeBalance sales, business development and marketing
  • Manage partner relationships and record activities into partner management system
  • Develop and manage marketing plans to be executed jointly with select partners
  • Foster and develop relationships between FreeBalance and channel partners at all levels
  • Gain and maintain FreeBalance mind share of sales representatives at channel partners
  • Manage the partner framework including revenue goals and commitments, pricing, etc.
  • Assist channel partners with FreeBalance and GRP positioning
  • Maintain high activity rates with partners and communicate regularly
  • Attendance and support of joint marketing events and sales activities
  • On-site training and on-boarding of key international partners

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Economics or Commerce or related field and
  • 5 years previous software sales/channel experience (preferably in government market)
  • Ability to build and grow existing partners in a profitable manner
  • Familiarity with public financial management and human resource systems and solutions
  • Comprehensive understanding of government procurement processes
  • Proven track record in meeting sales quotas
  • Excellent client management and organizational ability
  • Bilingualism considered an asset

This position requires extensive international travel.
