Director of Finance
The Director of Finance, will be responsible for managing all aspects of national and international projects and seeking additional opportunities, resources for development, financial control including budgeting, payments and reporting.
Main Responsibilities may include:
- Engage in full cycle financial business planning from inception to delivery
- Advise and report on financial forecasts as well as strategic financial plans on a regular basis for all Canadian and international offices
- Ability to provide high quality financial recommendations to support general management decisions
- Ensure IFRS reporting and business audits and compliance
- Provide guidance and control on capital expenditure
- Execute international tax and business strategies
- Liaise with Canadian and international financial and legal internal and external teams
Education and Experience:
- Professional Chartered Accountant
- 8-12 years of relevant experience with at least five years in a leadership capacity, working within a financial software environment on large-scale projects (Asset: CFO or Controller)
- Knowledge of international tax laws and regulations for setting up business practices as well as management of cost control and reduction
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
- Must demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Must be a team player - able to work well with both internal and external resources

Pre-Sales Consultant
As a Pre-sales Consultant at FreeBalance you will work closely with the sales, marketing and business development teams to support FreeBalance sales activities. This role will be active in reviewing and responding to Requests for Proposals and preparing and delivering presentations to prospects. The Pre-Sales Consultant will also provide business and technical product expertise, solution features and benefits information and deal-specific competitive analysis.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyzing requests for proposal and customer business requirements
- Preparing demonstrations of applications to meet the business requirements of our customers
- Assisting with pricing scenarios, business benefit and ROI analyses
- Participate in RFP processes
- Participate in conferences as requested
- Developing and nurture business relationships with prospects and existing customers
- Performing market research to identify opportunities and competitive knowledge
Education and Experience:
- The ideal candidate will be a graduate from a university commerce program specializing in accounting or finance
- Minimum 3+ years experience in presales / consulting activities for public financial management software solutions
- Experienced with ERP financial management applications
- Proven presentation and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and French
- Ability to travel internationally as required

Corporate Project Accountant
The successful candidate will manage, from a corporate accounting and reporting perspective, multiple complex projects. This includes performing cost and revenue reporting and working closely with the Program Management Office and Field Project Accountant to ensure budgets, forecasts and project status changes are properly controlled and maintained.
Main Responsibilities may include:
- Monitor project cost and status including project set up, change orders, budget revisions, warranty status and project closings for numerous concurrent projects
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure complete and accurate recording of project costs in accordance with the month-end schedule
- Perform monthly project revenue recognition to ensure timely and accurate corporate reporting
- Carefully evaluate project progress with the VP Operations, Project Managers and Field Project Accountant to identify issues that impact revenues and forecasted costs to complete
- Identify and analyze trends, risks, and variances and assist in proactively mitigating and/or resolving potential problems
- Review project billings for accuracy and ensure collection issues are reviewed and addressed as required
- Provide monthly project cost and gross margin analysis reports to management to assist in effective decision-making
- Manage monthly reconciliations of unbilled revenue, revenue and cost of sales to the general ledger
- Perform standard and custom analysis as required
Required Skills:

- 6+ years accounting / finance / project accounting experience
- Senior level accounting experience, preferably in software industry
- Advanced spreadsheet skills using Microsoft Excel

Channel Account Manager
As a Channel Account Manager at FreeBalance you will be responsible for recruiting, managing and expanding global partner relationships in the Government Resource Planning (GRP) market. The Channel Account Manager will be expected to increase the network of FreeBalance alliances and generate new business through the sale of FreeBalance products and services by our channel partners.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the international direct and indirect sales and service channel
- Identify, recruit and develop prospective high value channel partners
- Develop new business opportunities for FreeBalance with channel partners
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and participate in proposal response process
- Collaborate and leverage FreeBalance sales, business development and marketing
- Manage partner relationships and record activities into partner management system
- Develop and manage marketing plans to be executed jointly with select partners
- Foster and develop relationships between FreeBalance and channel partners at all levels
- Gain and maintain FreeBalance mind share of sales representatives at channel partners
- Manage the partner framework including revenue goals and commitments, pricing, etc.
- Assist channel partners with FreeBalance and GRP positioning
- Maintain high activity rates with partners and communicate regularly
- Attendance and support of joint marketing events and sales activities
- On-site training and on-boarding of key international partners
Education and Experience:
- University degree in Economics or Commerce or related field and
- 5 years previous software sales/channel experience (preferably in government market)
- Ability to build and grow existing partners in a profitable manner
- Familiarity with public financial management and human resource systems and solutions
- Comprehensive understanding of government procurement processes
- Proven track record in meeting sales quotas
- Excellent client management and organizational ability
- Bilingualism considered an asset
