As a Professional Services Consultant at FreeBalance you will have the opportunity to contribute to our on-going success by delivering quality and timely professional services during the roll out of our products and solutions to our customers and partners for all project deployments. Drawing upon your product/solutions expertise and knowledge, you will also provide support to the Support Services, Product Management, and Sales teams, to serve as a subject matter expert for functional analysis, specification development and support for bid submissions.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Support the implementation of FreeBalance Government Accountability Software.
  2. Conduct business requirements reviews, prepare configuration design, and develop acceptance test plans
  3. Train and mentor clients on the use of Freebalance software in order to ensure self-sufficiency and sustainability
  4. Build confidence in Freebalance reputation in the market

Education and Experience:

  1. The ideal candidate will be a graduate from a university commerce/business administration program specializing in accounting or finance.
  2. Demonstrate experience with establishing financial/accounting policies and procedures, and knowledge of Human Resource Management processes.
  3. Previous experience in implementing or using ERP systems and/or financial software (SAP, GP Dynamics, Oracle Financials, among others).
  4. Ability to travel internationally as required.
  5. Demonstrated experience working with customers resulting in a positive and ongoing relationship.
  6. Demonstrate skills in working with public sector accounting concepts and procedures (cash, modified accrual, accrual and budgeting).
  7. Ability to deliver effective training programs.
  8. Possess a strong sense of global citizenship and willingness to engage in global initiatives at Freebalance

Pre-Sales Consultant

The Pre-Sales Consultant works closely with the sales, marketing and business development teams to support FreeBalance sales activities.  This role will be active in reviewing and responding to Requests for Proposals and preparing and delivering presentations to prospects. The Pre-Sales Consultant will also provide business and technical product expertise, solution features and benefits information and deal-specific competitive analysis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with sales, marketing and business development teams on RFP’s
  • Analyze requirements through prospect interactions, discoveries, etc.
  • Configure financial software to meet the business requirements of the client
  • Assist with pricing scenarios, business benefit and ROI analyses, and creation of competition-differentiating sales tools
  • Support the other FreeBalance teams with prospect presentations, proposals, sales strategies and tactics. Ensure timely fulfillment of prospect and client needs
  • Give presentations at customer and prospect sites and conferences. Ongoing education of the sales team on solutions and approaches.
  • Work with product and marketing teams to help create industry specific marketing materials
  • Develop and nurture business relationships with prospects and existing customers within the sales region to ensure strong client references and solid knowledge/value understanding for prospects
  • Perform market research to identify opportunities and competitive threats

Education and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will be a graduate from a university commerce program specializing in accounting or finance.
  • Strong background (5+ years experience) in presales / consulting activities for public financial management software solutions
  • Experience in the areas of project management, resource management, and financial management an asset
  • Ability to understand customer business problems and clearly formulate and articulate software solutions to solve those problems
  • Strong presentation skills and experience with executive-level communications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.  Bilingual considered an asset.

Software Application Developer

As a software application developer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our on-going success by delivering quality and timely development services during the implementation of our products to our customers for all project deployments.
Reporting to the Director, Customer Support, the software application developer will be responsible for the following: 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with client on a regular basis to understand their requirements.
  • Interacts with other project team members.
  • Developing reports using JasperSoft.
  • Interrogate and manipulate the database to develop reports.
  • Works with the customer support department responding to customer requests.

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Computer, Systems Engineering or Software Programming. 
  • Knowledge and or background in installing and supporting enterprise software, ability to write ANSI SQL scripts with solid understanding of relational database such as Oracle 10G and/or MS SQL 2005.
  • Experience using CRM tools to resolve customer issues. Basic knowledge of government and civil service structure and operations.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Work experience directly using SQL Scripts and reports/form development using Jasper Soft.
  • Excellent client management and organization ability.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English
  • Ability to travel (local and global) to customer sites will be required as part of this position.

Technical Services Consultant

As a Technical Services Consultant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our on-going success by delivering quality and timely technical services during the implementation of our products to our customers for all project deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute technical tests for performance, load and stress using open source tools during deployment of FreeBalance Accountability Suite
  • Analyze business requirements and develop technical requirement specifications
  • Learn and understand clients’ current technical environment and recommend possible modifications to ensure optimum integration with FreeBalance’s products/solutions
  • Act as primary technical contact for the client during deployment and post-implementation
  • Complete technical product installations and upgrades, including database and software installs and system tuning
  • Collaboratively develop and deliver technical training to clients

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in implementing software systems, preferably in the government sector
  • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge and/or background in installing and supporting enterprise software

Tools and Languages:

  • 5+ years of proven ability to write ANSI SQL scripts with a solid understanding of relational databases such as Oracle 11G and/or MS SQL 2008, My SQL
  • Experience setting up Grid and Clustering of databases
  • 5+ years of development experience with Jaspersoft iReport and Crystal Reports in building custom report by using the FreeBalance data model
  • 2+ years of solid understanding of J2EE Application and Web Servers such as JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat/Apache
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using ETL tool such as Talend
  • Intermediate experience using .NET, Eclipse

Commercial Manager

FreeBalance is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join its team in India. Based in Delhi, the Commercial Manager will develop and manage key strategic business activities and develop relationships with key stakeholders in the Government Resource Planning (GRP) market. The successful candidate will have experience gained across a variety of government financial management projects and will have proven success in client relationship and people management and a solid understanding of India’s IT industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set targets and initiatives to manage performance
  • Provide detailed reporting to the executive committee and CEO
  • Strategic financial and commercial support across a range of projects and operational activities
  • Development and ongoing supervision and analysis of operational and capital budgets
  • Training and support in cost control and commercial matters to sales, business development and operational teams
  • Liaize with government officials, business consultants, vendors and corporate stakeholders in relation to standard policies and procedures, and other requirements
  • Supervision of contracts and contractual arrangements

Education and Qualifications:

  • Post graduate accounting, finance qualification or progress towards (CPA or CA)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, revises and verifies use cases based on functional specification to test software for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
  • Evaluates and tests new or modified software applications according to functional specifications and description of functionality to attain quality of the software.
  • Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction.
  • Writes and revises documentation related with: user manuals, guides, on-line help and ‘how to documents’.  Converting highly technical information and terminology into easy to understand general English as much as possible
  • Identifies differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggests modifications to conform to standards.
  • Works with company’s standards, procedures and software development methodologies and documentation.
  • May propose software enhancement for feasibility.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum University degree in Accounting or a related field such as Commerce, Business Administration, Financial Administration and/or financial designation (e.g. CMA, CGA)
  • Excellent communication and written skills in English
  • Ability to work well with team and project leaders.
  • Very in-depth knowledge of computer systems and software including but not limited to office applications, internet.
  • 3+ years experience working with ERP software and experience with accounting processes and procedures, particularly in the public sector would be considered an asset
  • Programming background would be considered an asset.
